Fiesta MK1 XR2

As rare as a blue dog!
Launched in 1976, the Ford Fiesta was designed as a small, economical city car. Faced with increasing competition from compact sports models (Renault 5 Alpine, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Autobianchi A112 Abarth), Ford decided in the early 1980s to create a more powerful and attractive version. After the S versions (1.3 and 1.6), the brand introduced a true sports model: the Fiesta XR2. Introduced in 1981, the XR2 marked the beginning of Ford's "XR" lineage (Escort XR3, Capri 2.8i). It was only available in a 3-door body style and was in production for only 2 years. Distinctive features: Body kit with bumpers, front spoiler, and fender flares - Red side stripes and black rear spoiler - Round long-range headlights - 13-inch sport wheels fitted with 185/60 R13 tires - Instrument cluster surrounded by a red ring - "Bulge" at the rear to accommodate a 13" spare wheel. The XR2 MK1 was powered by the Kent Crossflow 1.6 L engine borrowed from the Escort. Power: 84 hp at 5,500 rpm * Torque: 125 Nm at 3,600 rpm - Weight: 840 kg - Top speed: ~170 km/h - 0 to 100 km/h: around 9 sec. These performance figures made it one of the first popular accessible GTIs. Our MK1 XR2 has been restored in 2022, with invoices totaling 18,834.83 euros. Maintenance (invoice available) in September 2024 with less than 300 km driven, starter revised in September 2025. Its driving experience is astonishing, the 1.6L engine coupled with its low weight (+ or - 800 kg) gives it quite a character! All inspections are welcome. Photos and a video file available upon request. We deliver throughout Europe and beyond.
