The Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Series 1 began production in August 1964. Our example, chassis number 1E30097, rolled out of Browns Lane on September 30, 1964, one of the first! Delivered to its first owner on November 16, 1964 by the Swiss importer Claparede in Geneva.
It was Claparede who allowed Jaguar to create the incredible surprise effect of the world premiere presentation of the E-Type Coupe at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961.
